手やすり作業から、サンドペーパーの加工作業に変わります。最初は粗めのペーパーでの作業です。
サンドペーパーはさらに中目のものに変わります。本体全体に丁寧に触れていく作業が続きます。
サンドペーパーはさらに細目に変わります。この段階で再確認をし、音色との関係い変化が出てきた場合は、形状を変えて同じような作業を繰り返します。樹種によっては、水打ち作業が加わり、さらに磨きの工程を繰り返します。
